Four ways to keep your flowers fresh

Follow these four easy tips to get the most out of your flowers at home.

1. Water regularly

Ensure your flowers stay hydrated by regularly adding water. If you used foam or moss, top these up too, as flowers can be thirstier than expected, especially when first arranged.

2. Avoid heat and sunlight

Keep your arrangement away from direct sunlight, heat sources like radiators, and fresh fruit, as these can shorten the lifespan of your flowers.

3. Deadhead and prune

Snip off wilted flower heads from flowers like lilies or chrysanthemums that have multiple blooms per stem. Remove any drooping or tired foliage to keep the arrangement looking fresh for longer.

4. Rearrange as needed

Different flowers wilt at different rates. Remove expired blooms, rearrange remaining flowers, or transfer them to a smaller vase. You can even dry certain leftover flowers and foliage to extend the beauty.
