Manifesto

This is a personal manifesto for my own life, which includes my business Rook Botanics. This is what I wholeheartedly believe:

  • Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and everyone should have beauty in their lives. Whether it’s seeing blackberries bursting with ripeness on an autumnal walk, or a luxurious bouquet of white lilies, or even a sparkling clean kitchen sink

  • Creativity is not only important, it is essential. People shy away from creative pursuits in fear that they might not be good at them. When someone tells you their favourite past time is hillwalking, you don’t ask them if they are good at it. So why do we do this will creative hobbies? Everyone has the capacity to be creative.

  • Not every moment of life can be deliriously happy, but it should be filled with things you enjoy. Not material things, but moments. Like when your cup of tea is just at the right temperature, or spending the night catching up with a best friend. These moments of enjoyment are what I strive for.

  • We are all individuals. And we all have our own way to express our individuality. For me, flowers are one of the ways I express myself.

  • I believe introducing creativity and beauty into your life should be easeful. We don’t need to have all of the right supplies and the expensive materials to make art. I’m certainly guilty of believing this at times. What is simpler, can often be the best option.
