What should I do with my flowers after the wedding?
These suggestions
1. Give them to your guests!
Set up a bouquet station at your wedding. Your florist can provide you with a roll of brown paper and some twine. As your guests leave they can take some of your flowers, wrap them up and take them home as their wedding favour.
2. Donate them
This one will take a little bit of research beforehand. You can reach out to local hospices, care homes or other organisations that might be grateful for a donation of fresh flowers. You may even have a charity or organisation that has helped a loved one that you could contact.
Taking apart your wedding the day after can feel a little blue, but if you know you’re taking your flowers to somewhere they will be really appreciated then this will feel great.
3. Preserve them
I’d recommend doing this with your wedding bouquet regardless! There’s loads of different options out there. You can dry them, preserve them in resin or wax, find a professional to frame them or make a cast of them.
4. Gift them to your suppliers
Weddings are great fun, but they can be long and tiring days for your suppliers. Gifting them with your wedding blooms is a perfect way to say thank you. Everyone from your photographer to the servers and kitchen staff at your venue will probably love a wee bunch to take home.
5. Remember loved ones
There may be loved ones who are no longer with you. Taking your wedding florals to place at their burial site or significant place to them is a beautiful way to share your special day with them.
